From a destination to your connection.
Search for a stop, an address or a place. Compare routes on the map, with walks, transfers and platforms shown in context.

With you after you board.
Start your journey and keep the next stage in view. Live trip guidance, widgets and the Apple Watch companion put travel information where you need it on the move.

Inside the app

Current iOS simulator UI-test screenshots. Ticket examples use demo data; Transitous and operator live data vary by place and time.
iOS & Android
Android is available as an APK on GitHub and remains in development. Android uses MapLibre; iOS uses Apple Maps. The gallery shows iOS and Android with identified demo data.
Context
Publit is a free, open-source transit app built on Transitous. It adds local operator sources where live times are missing and contributes feed fixes upstream so other open apps can benefit too.
Role
App development and my own contribution to Transitous: a real-time converter for the city buses in Bari (AMTAB).
Methods
SwiftUI for iOS 17+ and watchOS 10+, the MOTIS API via Transitous, GTFS / GTFS-Realtime, local operator live-data adapters, WidgetKit, Live Activities and a Python converter for AMTAB Bari. The repository is MIT-licensed.
Status
Publit is actively developed for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The current release status is documented on GitHub. Local operator sources complement Transitous where live times are missing; coverage depends on available open data.
Outcome
Route planning and comparison, nearby departures, live trip guidance, map and place search, tickets and saved data stored on-device, widgets, Live Activities, Siri and an Apple Watch companion. Transitous remains the routing base; local operator sources fill some live-data gaps.
Publit for Android
Four views of the native Android app on Pixel 8 Pro. Android uses MapLibre; iOS uses Apple Maps. These captures show reproducible demo timetable data from Munich.
